There's no question that the American landscape is not well set up to accommodate people of all ages or help them live healthy lives. From isolated homes to streets that are challenging for people outside a car, we can do so much better. This session, led by the dynamic Jaclyn Cheves, Director of Policy and Partnerships for Blue Zones, focuses on creating environments where everyone can be healthy, safe and thriving. With her extensive background in public health, Jaclyn will guide us through practical changes that everyday citizens can implement or advocate for to create inclusive, healthy neighborhoods.
We'll explore ways to promote affordable and diverse housing options, transportation alternatives that go beyond driving, and “third spaces” where community interaction thrives. Whether you're a city planner, a community advocate, or a concerned citizen, this session will equip you with the knowledge and tools to help build a Strong Town that caters to all ages.
The course is worth 1 continuing education credit through the AICP.
