A 2020 survey showed that more than half of Strong Towns members use what they know from this movement to guide whom they vote for. But how exactly can you tell if someone running for office has your community’s best interests at heart?

This workshop will explore 10 key questions you can put to your future elected officials to see if they’ve got what it takes to make your city a strong town—whether you’re standing up in a candidate forum to ask your question, or assessing a candidate’s policy positions on their website.

Mayor of Bothell, WA and Strong Towns member, Mason Thompson will share his insights as a local leader implementing bottom-up, incremental principles in his place, alongside Strong Towns program director Rachel Quednau.

The course is worth 1 continuing education credit through the AICP.
