Welcome!

What problem do you feel compelled to address in your community?

That is the question that we use to start every new member orientation session on Zoom (check your email for the link to sign up for a session if you're interested in attending).

The problems our communities face are complex, challenging, and multifaceted. Accordingly, the Strong Towns approach is sensitive to the needs of local communities and resistant to one-size-fits-all solutions.

In this batch of orientation videos, Norm Van Eeden Petersman, Member Advocate for Strong Towns, provides a summary of our:

  1. History as a non-profit advocacy organization
  2. Core principles as advocates of a bottom-up revolution
  3. Key formative concepts that differentiate us from other groups
  4. Resources that members can draw upon to spark local change

Thank you for being a member of Strong Towns and welcome to your New Member Orientation!
