This February and March, take a ride on the Strong Towns “Local-Motive” for a tour of 10 exciting online events that will equip you with the tools you need to take action and make your community more economically resilient. From choosing your next bike lane battle, to building a strong local food system, to clearing the way for incremental developers in your city—each of the ten tour stops provides participants with the tools and inspiration they need to get started building strong towns right now!
Taking place every Thursday in February and March, each online stop on the tour will feature:
- An engaging presentation on a specific topic, led by a Strong Towns team member, including concrete ideas and advice for making your town stronger,
- An in-depth conversation with a special guest who has extensive experience taking action in this field,
- An opportunity for all attendees to ask questions and get answers from the Strong Towns speaker and guest, and
The 2021 Local-Motive Tour moves beyond the theoretical to give local leaders immediate steps they can take to make their places financially strong and prosperous. These sessions will be accessible to a broad audience, but of particular value to elected officials and city staff, urban planners, engineers and citizen activists.
Each tour stop qualifies as 1 Continuing Education / Certification Maintenance (CM) Credit, certified through the AICP.
